Vietnamese Beekeepers Association is a voluntary social and vocational organization of beekeepers and individuals working in economic, scientific and technical sectors relating to bee and honey-bee keeping.
The objective of the Association is to support members to improve their skills and qualifications and professional ethnics to devote for the development of bee keeping industry and contribute to construction and development of Vietnam.
The association is legally established with its own stamp and bank account. The headquarter of the Association is in Hanoi and its representative offices are located in many provinces and central cities. The Association is operated under the law of the State and the Association Charter is approved at general meetings.
Vietnamese Beekeepers’ Association is sponsored by Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development
Vietnamese Beekeepers’ Association is member of:
+ Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Association (VUSTA).
+ The International Federation of Beekeepers Associations (APIMONDIA).
+ The Asian Apiculture Association (AAA).
4. Functions of the Association
Being the legal representative in terms of finance and technical science and official spokes organization for all members in communicating and transacting with local and international organizations and individuals.
Developing the basic organization network, members and physical and technical facilities of the Association to ensure the unity and prestige of Vietnamese Beekeepers’ Association.
Creating and owning trademarks, brands, basic organization network, members and physical, economic and technical facilities of the Association.
Representing for members to participate in consulting and opponent with State organizations and/or foreign organizations in problems relating to beekeeping.
Educating and training on advanced science technologies and experience in producing, processing, maintaining and consuming products for members of the Association.
Carrying out economic activities in accordance with regulations of the law to create incomes for the Association.
Issuing magazines, special information, teaching and learning documents, economic and technical instructions for beekeeping.
5. Development Tendency in the next 10 years
Concentrating in construction and development of the Association
Improving technical skills for beekeepers
Increasing the output of bee honey of the whole country to 40,000 tons/year in which 32,000 tons for export
Researching to development new bee varieties with high productivity and disease-resistant ability
Constructing and implementing standards on bee honey and food for bee
Applying VIETGAP, quality control and origin retrieval system in beekeeping to ensure food hygiene and safety and gradually organizing to produce organic bee honey.
Researching, applying advanced science and technologies in producing and processing to increase the added value for honey- bee originated products.
Paying attention and developing local markets
Researching and developing processed products
Propagandizing and increasing awareness of the community in important pollination role played by bees in agricultural and forestry production.
